On their own - Britain's child migrants

'Something Attempted Something Done'

pamphlet with photos of groups of child migrants

A publicity pamphlet published by Barnardo’s to promote its various charitable works with children. It explains how the organisation turned ‘the raw material’ into ‘the finished article.’

Under the heading 'Nobody's Children or Empire Builders?', this page features the migration movement and the reasons behind it. It aimed at inviting public donations to help support Barnardo’s, with the thought that nine children were being admitted each day.

Lent by Barnardo’s.
